Natalie Baird Etheridge Athlete 2004-2008 • Track and Field – Broke Region 2 discus record as a freshman (134’04”) • Track and Field – set new AA discus record at state meet as a sophomore (152’05”) • Track and Field – Broke USATF Jr Olympic National discus record as sophomore (152’02”) • Track and Field – 2 nd in discus as sophomore at Nike Outdoor Nationals • Track and Field – All-Met and All-USA Today Track team as sophomore • Track and Field – Set new Region 2 meet record as sophomore (157’7”) • Track and Field – Won shot and discus at 2007 VHSL AA State Meet and Region 2 meet as a junior • Track and Field – 1 st in discus and 3 rd in hammer at 2008 USA Youth Outdoor T&F Championships • Track and Field – Gatorade Virginia Female Athlete of the Year (Sr) • Track and Field (discus) – broke Penn Relays record 3x • Track and Field – Washington Post All-Met Female Track Athlete of the Year (Sr) • Track and Field – Region 2 meet champion in shot and discus (Sr) • Track and Field – Team Captain in Senior Year • Track and Field – 2008 VHSL AA Champion in shot and discus • Track and Field – 2008 State team co-champs and Region 2 champions • PVHS Female Athlete of the Year – 2008 (Sr) • Attended W&M on track scholarship • Currently obtaining her Master of Science in Nutrition from Bridgeport University
Jerry Taylor Athlete 1979-1983 • Baseball – Lettered all 4 years • Baseball – Led the Northwestern District in 1983 with a .451 batting average. • Baseball – Stats for Senior year: 4 homeruns, six doubles and two triples with 25 RBI’s • Baseball – Unanimously selected to the 1 st All District team in 1983 • Baseball - 2 nd All Region team as an outfielder in 1983 • Baseball – VHSCA All Star game alternate in 1983 • Baseball – Team District Champions in 1982 and 1983 • Baseball – Selected to the Washington Post All Met 2 nd team • Football – Led the team in 1983 with 17.25 yards per carry and an average of 29 yards punt returns • Football – lettered 2 years on Varsity • Football – Team District Champions 2 years • Wrestling – lettered 2 years on Varsity • Wrestling – Team District Champions 2 years • Wrestling – Team Regional Runner Up 2 yrs • Graduated from West Virginia University • Member of the WVU Cheerleading team 4 years • Worked as Head of Logistics for Fortune 500 companies until his death in 2008
Stephanie Walley DelCore Athlete 1983-1987 • Basketball – lettered 3 years on Varsity • Basketball – Sterling Ruritan Tip-Off All Tournament Team for 2 years • Basketball – Selected 2 times to the 1 st Team All District team and All Region Teams • Basketball – Park View MVP, Coaches Award and Captain • Basketball - scored 496 points; had 212 rebounds and had 113 steals during her Junior and Senior years • Basketball – First Time Team District Champions – 1986 • Softball – lettered 2 years on Varsity • Softball – Selected 2 times to the All District Team and All Region at 2 nd base • Softball – Batting average junior year was .500 with 18 stolen bases and 18 RBI’s • Softball – Team District Champions in 1987 • PVHS Athlete of the Year for 1987 • United States Army Scholar Athlete of the Year – 1987 • Loudoun Times-Mirror Female Athlete of the Year – 1987 • Returned to coach and teach in LCPS for 17 years • Was the Assistant Coach on the PVHS State Championship softball team in 2002 • Currently teaches in Stafford County, Virginia

State Championship Milestones Park View High School has won 15 State Team Championships and 51 Individual State Champions since 1976. We have begun a new tradition of recognizing the milestone anniversaries of our previous state champions.
40 th Anniversary April Hughlett Vinson Track • Track Team Captain – 1978 • PV Track MVP: 1978 • Individual District Champion in 880 yd run & 1 Mile Run • Individual Regional Champion in 880 yd run & 1Mile Run • Individual State Champion in 880 yd run - tied a state record of 2:20.8 in 1978 • Individual State Champion in 1 Mile Run - 1978 • Currently still holds 2 mile PV track record • PVHS Female Athlete of the Year - 1978 • PVHS Most Outstanding Student & 2 nd in the class – 1978 • Loudoun Times Mirror Female Athlete of the Year – 1978 • Attended West Point – graduated top 16% in her class • Member of the PV Hall of Fame Class of 2011 • Currently a US Army Reserve Colonel and licensed Middle School Teacher • Coached by Anne Brooks and Sandy Simpson
35 th Anniversary of the 880 Yard Relay Team • 2 nd Girls 880 Yard relay team in PV history to win this event • Team consisted of Jodi Mailander Farrell, Bridget Collier Dagette, Gen Cummings Petrella and Diane Wright Breeden • Scores were 2 nd all year to Handley HS until the State Championship • State Championship time of 1:46.0 • “That kind of teamwork and the wonderful feeling of being part of a larger victory for our team and Park View High has stayed with me all these years .” – Jodi Mailander Farrell • “We all ran our best races of the season and never trailed them (Handley) in the race .” – Diane Wright Breeden • Gen Petrella and Diane Wright Breeden are members of the PV Hall of Fame • Coached by Joy Bundy
35 th Anniversary of the 1983 Gymnastics Team • The team lost 2 seniors from the 82 State Champs and returned 5 seniors • Went undefeated in all dual and tri meets • They were District, Region and State Champions • 7 members qualified for the Region meet • Newcomer Michelle Roth placed in 4 events and won the regional all around competition • Michelle and Laura Custer scored enough in state competition to make PV champs • Supported by team parents and PV staff members Mr. Peterson and Ms. Wimer • Mrs. Bibb, PV assistant principal, often attended meets and was considered their good luck charm • Coached by Hall of Fame Coaches Kathleen Dugger and Judy Miller
