What is an ADT? (aka: AA- T or AS- T) Associate Degrees for T ransfer • Degree resulting from Senate Bill 1440 to streamline the transfer process • Designed specifically for transfer to the California State University System • Degree consists of 60 CSU transferable units o Includes GE, major preparation and electives
Difference between ADT and AA/AS 60 units required for both but: • Different General Education Breadth Patterns • 18 vs. 37-39 units • Major preparation • Curriculum geared for transfer will be more general focusing on lower division; preparing students for upper division • Major course work for non-transfer will focus more on areas of emphasis
Benefits of an ADT Getting an Associate Degree for T ransfer makes it easier to transfer from a California Community College to participating four-year colleges/universities. • Guaranteed admission (into CSU System) • Meet all lower division major prep at most of the CSU campuses that offer a similar major • Will only need 60 upper division units after transfer to earn BA or BS • Earn an Associate Degree
What’s New with the ADT s?
