  7. Membership Membership year runs from May 1 to April 30. We are in a transition period and will have our first annual renewal for May 1, 2018. Challenge has been integrating with PCO multi-year individual memberships. Membership data base in development – members will have on-line access and data from clubs can be uploaded.

  8. Membership Procedures for Clubs 1. Complete the PA Club Membership Spreadsheet. 2. Check with PA Membership Director to determine if any of the players have multiyear memberships with PA / PCO. Players only need to pay these fees once per year (i.e., to home club first). 3. Submit the spreadsheet to membership@pickleballalberta.org 4. Send an ETransfer to treasurer@pickleballalberta.org 5. At PCO’s request, PA is now submitting all new members on a weekly basis to ensure timely processing and emailing of the players membership card.

Provincial Tournament ◦ Parkland Pickleheads hosted a very successful PA Provincial Championships Sept 8 to 10. 262 players from AB, BC, SK, MN, ON and the US. ◦ PA has developed a Hosting Requirements and Application process for 2018 Provincial Pickleball Championships. This year an opportunity to host and Indoor Championship in addition to the outdoor Championship event.

  14. Communications ◦ Completed work on logo February 2017 (Thanks to Chris Wharton for volunteering his professional time). ◦ Set up G Suite for non profits so no charge for PA email accounts ◦ Website launched in early September. ◦ Phase II will be a membership section so that we members can access member only part of site and we can send email blasts to members. This will streamline information to PCO. ◦ Communications Director is vacant – we need volunteers in this area and direction from clubs / members to evolve communications

  15. PCO Update ◦ PCO is now over 7000 members ◦ Goal is to meet National Sports Organization status by 2020 ◦ Agreement with USAPA to recognize referees certified by PCO and USAPA in both countries
