ACA Mission The mission of Arlington Classics Academy is to equip a diverse student body with a comprehensive education, including a special focus on Western civilization. Students will develop a commanding knowledge of the origins of our liberty and the ability to sustain it through moral leadership. We aim to accomplish this goal through a high level of academic instruction and high behavioral expectations.

TRAFFIC Only right hand turns into and out of our campus. DWG police will be present to ensure proper procedures are followed. Kindergarten Early Pick-Up (3:00) In the afternoon, regular pick-up will begin at 3:15 pm – if you arrive early, you will be waved on. Early pick-up for appointments (arrive before 2:45pm)
Morning Drop-Off: You may drive in either lane. Stop here each morning if you Afternoon Pick-Up: arrive before A-L will be in the right lane 7:30 am M-Z will be in the left lane **Cones will not be moved until 3:15pm.
What is Title I Title I is a general term for an allotment of funds that are provided to ACA from the Federal Government through the Texas Education Agency that assists ACA in meeting the standards of what is known as the No Child Left Behind Act.
ACA Title I I Targeted Assistance Program A targeted assistance program is one in which Title I, Part A funds may be used only for supplementary educational services for children identified as being most at risk of not meeting state standards.
ACA Title I I Targeted Assistance ACA utilizes Title I funds to provide in- school small group instruction for students that meet certain criteria. A percentage of the Title I funds is also set aside to provide summer learning opportunities for students who meet certain criteria.
How wil ill my child be assessed? The state standards are known as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills available at www.tea.state.tx.us The students are assessed through the State of Texas Assessment for Academic Readiness or STAAR assessment through 8 th grade. High School courses in Biology and Algebra will take an End of Course state exam.
How wil ill my child be assessed? ACA also provides the Iowa Test of Basic Skills or ITBS to inform parents and students along their educational journey (October) and Spring for Kindergarten ACA will use additional assessments within the classroom to monitor student learning.
What are the criteria? 1)Did not promote or did not meet passing standard for 9 week grading period 2)Did not meet standard on last year’s STAAR assessment 3)Did not meet standard on ISIP assessment at Primary. 4) Did not meet standard on ACA benchmark assessment 5) Behind grade level on ITBS

What is expected of f my child? ACA is an accelerated school. More information is taught and at a quick pace when compared to traditional public schools. All students attend Spanish, Technology, Art, Music, and Physical Education

Student Handbook
Attendance: Students must be in attendance on the first day of school or they will be considered a no show and their seat will be filled. State law requires that students be in attendance each school day for the ENTIRE period of instruction unless otherwise absent for reasons noted in the law
Attendance: If a student accumulates more than 4 absences within a six month period, a doctor‘s note for each absence for illness afterward must be provided. (pg 3) Excessive absences (unexcused) for partial or whole days could jeopardize your child’s ability to attend Arlington Classics Academy (pg 4).
Attendance: Children will not be permitted to be picked up early after the specified times (pg18): - Primary 2:45 p.m. - Intermediate 3:00 p.m. - Middle School 3:00 p.m.
Birthdays: ACA has always welcomed parents who celebrate their child’s birthday. However, due to the Texas Administrative Code 26.6 law, we cannot allow foods identified as minimal nutritional value (soda, candy, cupcakes) onto campus at any time during the school day except for 3 allowable designated school-wide celebrations. Food Service and Payment Cash or check payments may be made at the administration building with Cecilia White during the regular office hours. Office hours: 8am – 4pm Payments may also be made online at myschoolbucks.com
Phone Calls / Cell Phones During school hours, cell/smart phone use is not permitted EXCEPT when specified by the teacher or by course description for an educational purpose. Inappropriate cell/smart phone use will result in confiscation. A $15 fine will be assessed for each event after the first event. (pg 15-16)
Uniforms & Dress Code Communication sent out over the summer and available on the website. (ACA >> FAMILIES >> DISTRICT POLICIES & GUIDELINES >> UNIFORM & DRESS CODE) Collaborative effort from parents and staff that served on a committee to review current uniform supplier and make a recommendation to the board.
Uniforms & Dress Code – New this Year • All uniform items must be from Mills Uniform Co. or Parker (if obtained from a previous student) • All polos must be monogrammed with school logo • Shoes must be mainly white, brown, black, or navy • Socks must be plain and solid – white, navy or black • Brown or black belt must be worn if belt loops are present in grades 1-8. • No torn, ripped, or cut uniforms will be allowed • Girl hair accessories must be the same colors of the uniform, and/or black, brown, or clear.
