WHAT IS IT? I GET AROUND DOWNTOWN is a wayfinding system throughout Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) that integrates signs, maps and real-time digital information to assist with navigating its neighborhoods, destinations and amenities.

WHY DO WE NEED IT? • DTLA is booming with new residents and visitors and is Los Angeles’ hub of sports, entertainment and culture. • The upcoming 2022 Super Bowl, 2026 World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics are on their way – and the fans will be here! • This project is an important part of readying for these events and will deliver meaningful improvements to the lives of people who live, work and visit DTLA every day.
WHY DO WE NEED IT? DTLA’s 15-year old vehicle and pedestrian wayfinding system is out-of- date, deteriorating and needs to be replaced to keep pace with the area’s current and projected growth and development.
PROJECT GOALS The goals of this new wayfinding system are to: • Improve the connectivity, accessibility and experience of DTLA • Make it easier to get around DTLA by all modes of travel • Foster a welcoming pedestrian environment and sense of place • Strengthen the identity of DTLA and its neighborhoods • Connect people with DTLA’s neighborhoods, landmarks and destinations • Be adaptable, durable and easy to maintain
