The City’s Role • Provide infrastructure • Use of public right of way for events • Traffic and transportation planning • Parking assets- on-street and off-street • Minneapolis Convention Center • Ensure safety and security • Permitting • MPD lead lawn enforcement agency • Emergency service • MPD, MFD, MECC, Emergency Management • Connection with surrounding municipalities, state and federal government, especially as it relates to public safety to ensure there is a coordinated effort • Funding agreement with Host Committee passed by City Council in April 2017 3

Public Safety • Designated SEAR Level 1 by Department of Homeland Security • Minneapolis Police is the lead law enforcement agency • Coordinating with local, state and federal resources • Joint Powers Agreements in place with 40 different local law enforcement agencies to provide sworn law enforcement support to Minneapolis Police • Law enforcement will be highly visible but all officers working will be approachable and friendly 5
