MINISTRY OF EDUCATION GRADUATION REQUIRMENTS 1. MUST HAVE A TOTAL OF 80 CREDITS 1 course = 4 credits Must complete all required courses at each grade level 16 credits must be at the Grade 12 Level 2. MUST HAVE A FINE ARTS OR APPLIED SKILLS COURSE (almost all electives are one or the other check course calendar) 3. MUST COMPLETE CAREER-LIFE CONNECTIONS (CLC)

ELECTIVES – HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THEM? • RETAKE FAILED Courses – If you have failed any grade 10 required course (MA, EN, SS, SC, PE or CLE) you must retake it! – If you fail a course in 2 nd semester make sure you meet with your counsellor in June. • Explore areas of interest − Finding out what you like and do not like is an essential part of job discovery. − Electives can also teach you skills for life. • Post-secondary studies − Second language requirements at select universities

High school Assessments 1. Most courses will have a final exam, prepared by the classroom teacher. 2. With the new curriculum changes you will be required to write both a numeracy and literacy assessment prior to graduation.
Summer Opportunity Earn 4 high school credits by taking a summer course in Agriculture. 80 hours of participation required. Take part in a hands-on course in which you grow food at the SSS Farm and the SSS Greenhouse. Learn Skill in: Greenhouse food production Vegetable farming Food Marketing and Sales Build up your resume and get course credit at the same time Course runs in July and August on Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. If interested contact Mr. Massie: joe_massie @sd33.bc.ca
