Community Needs Assessment Don’t start with a plan and/or an implementing organization — start with the community ▪ What do they want? ▪ Does it qualify for a Global Grant ▪ What they will support and maintain? Rotarians should be involved 4

Funding for Global Grants ▪ Global Grants are funded through: • Cash from Clubs • Cash from other sources • District Designated Funds (DDF) • World Fund match from TRF 7
Funding for Global Grants New DDF limits for Global Grants Why? ▪ World Fund decreased due to other commitments ▪ District 5450 DDF reserve reduced due to demands for Global Grants and PolioPlus Maximum DDF available for 2020-21: $130,000 8
2020-21 DDF for Global Grants ▪ $15,000 maximum DDF for each Club ▪ Maximum per project: $15,000 if two Clubs $20,000 if three Clubs, and $25,000 for four or more Clubs 9
Global Grant Financing Rotary International Change: ▪ DDF matched 100% from TRF ▪ Cash no longer matched by TRF ▪ Up to 3 to 1 match ▪ Minimum project: $45,000 10
Global Grant Permissible Expenses ▪ 10% contingency ▪ 10% for project manager ▪ 10% for measurement ▪ $1,000 for project signage 11
First Come First Serve 1 Please notify the District about upcoming Global Grants. When the application is close to complete, sponsor requests DDF, submitting: Copy of the online grant application Signed cash and DDF requests from participating D5450 Clubs Requests considered in order of receipt of request. 12
First Come First Serve 2 District representative reviews application and recommends DDF approval If DDF is available, District awards DDF contingent upon Grant submission within 120 days. If deadline not met, sponsor submits a new request and joins the queue based on new date DDF approved is from the year the grant is submitted. 13

Global Grant Application Once application is submitted: RI Grant Advisor will review and communicate Decide where Grant funds will be held Payment of Club funds to TRF or grant account ▪ Meeting Area of Focus and sustainability are key concerns 18

Global Grant Reports ▪ Finances and Reporting • Receipts and bank statements required • Detailed ledger • 5 year record retention ▪ Reports due • First due within 12 months of payment • Every 12 months until completed 20
