  6. Being fit, healthy and sporty… • PE / Games on Thursdays • Have the right kit • Remove jewellery, hair tied back • If kit borrowed (Mr Sutherland approved) - must wash and return • Know how to change quickly, quietly and responsibly • Know how to look after things – have items clearly labelled so they can find their way back. • Healthy morning fresh fruit (fruit only. NO nuts allowed!) • Names on water bottles

  7. PE kits • P.E. Kits Must Contain: – White Shorts – White T-shirt – Trainers – Plimsoles – Plain black track suit needed for colder weather – Black jumper with logo – No earrings on P.E. days (small studs only permitted in school)

Swimming Rules • Swimming on Fridays (each class swims for 2 terms) • No water bottles • Not allowed to use hairdryers in the changing rooms • Not allowed to use the lockers • Not allowed to wear earrings in the pool • Mustn’t share swimming kits or swimming caps • Have our hair tied back (girls) • Use a sensible and sturdy bag • Do not bring goggles • Do not bring toiletries • Do not forget to pack under clothes.

Beginning to manage your own learning… • Reflect on what you learn every lesson – Green Time • I nstil a ‘Can Do’ attitude. • Home Learning given out on Thursday to be returned by Tuesday • Home Learning during golden time if needed • Home learning diary is a platform where children note down their homework and tick once completed. Parents to sign weekly and record any messages regarding homework here. Diary to be handed in with homework on Tuesday. • Reading to an adult at home at least once a week, and to be recorded in Reading Record • Children are expected to have a book with them in school everyday – preferably the one they are reading at home. They are responsible for changing their own book when they need to.

Pencil Cases • They are encouraged to take responsibility of their belongings and look after them. • Essentials are: • Blue ink/gel/Berol handwriting pen • Pencils • Glue All items MUST be named. • Colour pencils • Green pen • Ruler and rubber • Not allowed to use: • Biro pens • Friction pens/ corrector pens • Self correcting fluid (Tipex) • Scissors • Compass points

  12. Behaviour Expectations “Merits and Commendations” are prominently • Teamwork! displayed in all classrooms and are consistently adhered to by all staff and pupils. This system is a layered approach to acknowledge and reward positive behaviours based on the ethos / ideas of teamwork, citizenship and learning.   15. Parent / Guardian Pick up & drop off • Children must tell us when their parent or guardian has arrived • The bell goes at 8.45am (children come in at 8:30) • If your child is being picked up by someone different, please inform the office before 2PM

Learning new things … Our topics this Year are… Autumn Term – Ancient Egyptians Spring Term – Vikings and Anglo Saxons Summer Term – Mexico and Aztecs Trips confirmed so far: Autumn – Crew (Ancient Egyptians) Spring – Wembley stadium Summer – Kingswood Further Updates on trips and the curriculum will be found on the website.

Working together … • Children will have lots of opportunities for partner and team work • We want to work together with parents so if you need to contact us you can email us on the year group email which is checked daily before 8:30am. Any emails regarding pick-up after 8:30 may not be checked therefore please contact the office so they can pass on the information. • year4@grimsdyke.harrow.sch.uk
