Work Experience Purpose and intent of work experience. 18/19 outcomes – what have we learnt? Selecting a placement – the benefits of a self selected placement. Support for students and parents
Work Experience – Own Placement Collect an own placement form from the Careers Office – electronic copies are available. Complete and return the form by January 31 st 2020. Health and Safety checks and considerations to be completed. Placement accepted by BPS and confirmed to student. Student to confirm with employer details of placement. Student will be visited by a member of staff during their placement and support will be available throughout.
Alternatives to Own Placement From January 2020, the remaining students left to be placed will be identified and an alternative route will be implemented by the school. Whilst a placement will be sought, this may not suit the aspirations or preferences for the students.

How are we supporting pupils for science exams? Physics formula and content quizzes will take place at the start of many lessons Homework may be based on year 9 work to keep this fresh in pupils’ minds Revision weeks will take place in lessons throughout years 10 & 11 to recap content for exams Assessments will cover large amounts of content so pupils can practise revising lots of material
How can pupils best prepare for their Science GCSEs? Complete classwork to a good standard and use the best resource you have – your teachers! Complete your homework on time, and to a high standard (ask for help in good time if necessary) Invest in revision guides (letters will be given to pupils soon), and use them regularly, a little each week Be resilient and positive!

How can you support your child? Help your child learn the facts – test them regularly! Does your child have homework? Nudge them to complete this on time! Be positive and encouraging! Ensure your child starts revising early in the GCSE course. A little each week is best.
