  1. Which beach? Here are a few of our team’s favourite beaches in Cornwall! Gorran Haven – Mandy’s Choice . Nice wide sandy beach with easy access for people and boats with its small harbour. Facilities such as toilets, cafes, deckchairs, parking etc. The old stone quay shelters the boats moored in the harbour and provides good views of the beach and bay. Great for sun bathing and fishing.

  2. Portmellon - a 10 minute walk from Portmellon. A small sandy cove with slipway. Parking and toilets are in Mevagissey. GYLLYNGVASE – Robert’s Choice This is a wide popular sandy beach on the outskirts of Falmouth. Parking and facilities are all nearby. Level access to Gyllyngvase Beach. PENDOWER – James’ Choice Is the west part of a huge sandy beach about 1 mile long in Gerrans Bay. There is a slipway down to the beach. There are three car-parks. Dogs are allowed on the beach (on a lead) all year.

  3. PAA SANDS – Hazel’s Choice Is a wide sandy beach popular with families. There is a huge expanse of beautiful sand at low tide . Facilities are close to the beach and there is level access to the beach. One large car-park. Dogs are allowed on the beach (on a lead) all year. READYMONEY BEACH – Amy ’s Choice Is a small sheltered sandy beach on the outskirts of Fowey. It is also worth climbing up to St Catherines Castle to admire the spectacular views of the Fowey estuary. There are regular ferries from Fowey to Polruan. There are two car-parks, one large one near Fowey town centre and a smaller one a 10 minute walk from the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between Easter and October. KYNANCE COVE – Bill’s Choice A picturesque cove with a pleasant sandy beach at low tide. The steps down to Kynance Cove beach are steep. There is National Trust parking a ten minute walk from the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between Easter and October.

  4. PORTHMEAOR AND PORTHGWIDDEN BEACH ST IVES – Taylor’s Choice St Ives is a popular and picturesque seaside town, with the supberb beach of Porthmeor for swimming, body boarding and surfing. There are also three smaller beaches Porthgwidden, Balmaluz and Lambeth Walk. SENNEN COVE - Amanda’s choice A wide sandy beach which is popular with surfers and families. There are decent facilities and plenty of parking, but note there is a steep path down from the cliff car park. At low tide the beach stretches from Sennen Cove to Gwynver Beach. There is also parking at Gwynver but with a very steep path to the beach. The coast path can be walked south to Lands End for spectacular coastal views.
