The University The University of Gibraltar opened its doors on 21 st September 2015. • • There are three faculties • Faculty of Business • Faculty of Health and Sport Science • Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality • Three Institutes: • Institute for Gibraltar and Mediterranean Studies • Institute for Earth and Life Sciences • Institute of Continuing Professional Development • Linked to the UK as a Member State of the EU, Gibraltar has access to European Funding and the Erasmus+ Programme. • Gibraltar does not come under the UK universities but we chose to be aligned with the UK Governance, Academic Framework and Quality Assurance. • The University of Gibraltar has Research Degree and Research Degree awarding powers.
