What is CMP? • Matchmaking service for mathematically oriented projects in other departments/industry. • Hosts submit projects (but you can find your own). • Projects listed on website in early January. • Some bursary support for academic projects.
Lunchtime Seminar • Mondays and Wednesdays 1-2 pm in Lent. • Free lunch! (First come, first served.) • Circa 6 speakers/seminar presenting potential CMP projects. Tea and discussion afterward. • First seminar is Monday Jan 27. • Sign up on website for email announcement of speakers
Finding a Project • Contact hosts directly • Hosts decide • expected timeframe: early March • Apply for bursaries on website (non-industrial) • All projects: register your project on website
Bursaries • Largely supported by outside donors • Application deadline: end of Lent • Amount for this year still to be decided, but at least £250/ week (8 weeks max) • In return, we expect: • Presentation • Feedback
Good Manners • If you’ve been in touch with a host about a project and are no longer interested, let the host know . • If you come to a lunchtime seminar, please stay if you can. • If for some reason you must leave, try to do so between speakers. • If you take up a CMP project, please let us know.
