CA Community College Facts • SMCCCD annual tuition and fees: $1,132 ($46.00 per unit) • CSU 2015-16 average tuition & fees per academic year: $6,500- $7,000 • UC 2015-16 annual tuition/fees: $13,400 • Private 4-year Universities: tuition/fees range from $32,000- $49,000 per academic year. • Public Out-of-State Universities: average annual tuition/fees - $30,500 for out-of-state students. * Ways to cover the cost: Financial Aid & Scholarships
Cost & Financial Aid • Classes cost just $46/unit . • Financial Aid is available to students who qualify: - Board of Governor’s Fee Waiver (BOG)/Promise Grant (CCPG) - Pell Grant (up to $6,095) - Cal Grant - Scholarships - Work-study
Promise Scholars (first year students) • For first-year students • Pays for all of student (next year less than 200) fees • Completion program • Textbook support • Recent High School Graduates or San Mateo • Apply through WebSmart Adult school graduates – Graduated in 10/19 or later • January 15 th open app • $50.00 monthly incentive – gas or food • Students must meet program requirements to maintain program enrollment
