  32. Meal Plan Basics • Meal plans are automatically activated on the Cajun Card once the semester begins as long as the student has paid his/her meal plan balance (full/partial depending on where they live). If meal plan does not work, student needs to report to Housing Department. Certain dining areas are open before actual classes start. Please check with Sodexo Dining on these times and locations. • Meals portion of any meal plan may be used in the main Cafeteria in Guillory Hall or designated time periods in Café Fleur des Lis. Meals reset every Sunday and do not roll over to the next week. Meals can be used at any time period, however they cannot eat twice within that meal period. Students have one week after classes begin to change their meal plan in Housing Office. • Declining Balance portion of any meal plan may be used at any of the Sodexo Dining Facilities on Campus (listings available online and in your packets) beginning the first day of the semester provided that the balance for his/her meal plan has been paid. Cafeteria meals will be served beginning the first day of classes. Students will be able to carry over their unused declining balance dollars from fall to spring semester only.

  33. FAQ’s Where can we check our student’s meals and DB balance? Students can get their balances by logging onto their ULink account and clicking the Check Balance tab underneath the Cajun Card Logo or access directly through our website under Account Management. What are the times and locations of the dining facilities? Go to https://ullafayette.sodexomyway.com for current information. Can you use other forms of payment in the dining facilities? Yes, all facilities accept all major credit/debit cards, cash, and Cajun Cash. Where can commuter students purchase one of the meal plans? The Cajun Card Office in Vermilion Hall 1 st floor, or call 337-851-CARD. What meal plan would you recommend for my student? Meal plans should be assessed based on which dining facility they feel they will most likely eat at and how often, student’s eating habits, lifestyle, class schedules, and of course….convenience! Can a student change their meal plan once the semester starts? Yes, students have 1 week after semester begins. Students must change his/her meal plan in Housing or visit housing.louisiana.edu . What if my student has both Cajun Cash and the Meal plan with Declining Balance (DB) on their card, how will the cashier know what to charge? The student must tell the cashier if they have meal plan with DB or if they have Cajun Cash. Students with meal plans should always make sure to tell the cashier “meal plan” or ”DB”. Once DB reaches zero, then they can start deducting from any Cajun Cash available. They can add money to their card in the form of Cajun Cash at any time through the Cajun Card office.
