DHS DRESS CODE “Trench” coats or “Dusters” are not allowed

DHS DRESS CODE • Hoods down • No caps, hats, beanies – Will be confiscated until end of school day.

Morning Arrival Get here & Stay here! • DO NOT leave campus to go to store or donut shop across FM 517. • Students may NOT leave campus once they arrive on campus. • Students may NOT return to campus to catch a bus.

Morning Arrival Upon arrival each morning, you may ONLY gather in the following areas: • Dining Hall • Vintage Gym • Seating Area in Gator Mall – Do NOT block hallways & doors! • PASSES REQUIRED to go anywhere else in the building

Morning Passes • REQUIRED to go anywhere else in the building: – Begins Tuesday, Aug. 30 th – NO EXCEPTIONS ! • Passes must have: – PROGRAM – STUDENT’S NAME – COACH/DIRECTOR’S NAME

WATER • ONLY clear water in clear water bottles are permitted. (16-20 oz.) • Outside drinks will be confiscated and/or discarded.

Electronic Devices:  Texting & Listening ONLY  NO Phone Conversations  ONE ear bud only  NO big headphones/No BEATS  All classrooms are “NO” cell phone zones Confiscated Items: Returned to parents on Thursdays between 2 – 4 p.m., & there is a $15 fee for the return of cell phones.

DHS Tardy Policy • See Page 89 Student Handbook! • EXCESSIVE TARDIES = 5 or more in any one class period. • Excessive tardies may cause you to lose credit • Excessive tardies will result in assignment to Saturday School • See Page 32 of Student Handbook! • SATURDAY SCHOOL begins 9/24/16 • 8am – 12 noon • Fee assessed for credit recovery 1 st Period Begins!

DHS Attendance Policy • Attendance – IT’S THE LAW • 90% Attendance is REQUIRED • Failed class due to attendance means no credit earned for the class EVEN IF YOU PASS! • If Absent, submit WRITTEN note to Attendance within 3 school days : • Undocumented absences=TRUANCY • TRUANCY = disciplinary action • Excessive Absences = Referral to COURT 1 st Period Begins!

DHS Pride and Respect Modest esty is ALWAYS beautiful! Walk and TALK on the right side of the hallways. No Running in the hallways No Pass Rule: First/Last 15 minutes! Must have a Yellow Hall Pass to be in hall for any reason during class time.

DHS Pride & Respect ONLY in these areas: VINTAGE GYM DINING GALL GATOR MALL OUTSIDE PATIO TABLES • Do not sit on the walls or on the concrete. • ALL Academic areas are OFF LIMITS during lunch: NO PASSES! • LIBRARY will be OPEN, but NO Food or Drinks are allowed in the library.

DHS Pride & Respect Use quiet voices in the dining hall and hallways. Yelling is unnecessary and inappropriate in a public building. Closed Campus! No leaving for lunch (truant). Need to go to vehicle? Get a pass from an administrator only!

DHS Tutoring • L.W.O.D. – Lighted Windows, Open Doors – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3p – 7p ( after Labor Day ) • After school – Check your class syllabi and/or your teachers’ tutorial schedules

DHS Parking: 10 th – 12 th grade only • Parking Permits for sale – Next Week in front Office (Bookkeeper) • 6:45a-7:15a • During lunches • Only park in designated areas • NEVER park in faculty/teacher parking • NEVER in
