Parks Development Department Cycling in Vaughan Today Off-Road Trails Parks Development is responsible for capital projects for the construction and retrofit of multi-use trails and trail bridges in open spaces not tied to development. Budget requests are made yearly for the design and/or construction of additional segments of trails in open spaces throughout the City.
Parks Development Department Off-Road Multi-Use Trails Humber Trail / William Granger Bartley Smith Greenway Greenway
Parks Development Department Cycling in Vaughan Today Key trail systems in the City of Vaughan are the Bartley Smith Greenway (Don River) and the William Granger Greenway (Humber River) which follow natural open space corridors. Trails span various land owners including the City of Vaughan, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), and others. Individual owners policies for use effect the design and development. Construction of trails in natural open spaces typically require permits from agencies like the TRCA and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). These are sometimes time consuming but help to ensure the protection of endangered and sensitive species.
Parks Development Department Cycling in Vaughan Today Please do your part by staying on formal trails and multi-use paths in natural open spaces.
