  2. Long-Term Goals of the 1-to-1 initiative are to: 1. Increase student engagement with curriculum 2. Personalize instruction to meet student’s needs, abilities and interests 3. Foster the growth of the 4 C’s – Collaboration, Communication, Critical-Thinking, and Creativity

  3. What devices are being implemented throughout the district: • K-2 • Student devices are still being decided on, but will likely be a tablet style device • 3-7 • Students will be receiving HP laptops which they will use and keep in school • 8-12 • Students will be receiving HP 2-in-1 Tablets (with touch screens and digital inking) that they will be able to take home

  4. 1-to-1 Device Policy Handbook Please be sure to read the entire 1-to-1 device policy handbook in order to fully understand all of the policy details 3 Key Components 1. Care and Financial Responsibility 2. Privacy on school devices 3. Digital Citizenship

  5. Damage to, or Loss of Device • General wear and tear on the student devices is expected • General wear and tear is covered by the school • We understand that accidents may happen and will be handled on an individual basis • At the same time students and families may be responsible for the replacement cost ($395) if the devices is deemed to be intentionally or negligently damaged

  6. Privacy • Students may NOT expect privacy on a school provided device • Student content and use is monitored regularly for appropriate use • Devices will be managed and Filtered in school as well as at home • Students agree to not access inappropriate material to the best of their ability. Filters do not catch everything

  7. Being a sound Digital Citizen • Students must agree to be a good digital citizen and not harass, bully, or be insensitive to others when I am online. This includes protecting my identity and passwords and not placing myself or others at risk by sharing personal information online.
