  2. SEMCO Energy Gas Company • Natural gas utility serving approximately 300,000 customers throughout Michigan • 150 miles of transmission line • 6,000 miles of distribution main 2

  3. Marquette Connector Pipeline Northern Natural Gas SEMCO Proposed Pipeline Great Lakes Pipelines SEMCO Dist. Mains Northern Natural Gas TransCanada’s Great Lakes Pipelines 3

  4. Marquette Connector Pipeline Route The 20” Pipeline • Southern end begins near Arnold, Michigan • Extends north parallel to the ATC Corridor to near Gwinn, Michigan • Progresses northeast toward the Marquette County Sawyer Airport • Extends parallel to the CN Railway & NNG corridor to the NNG interconnect near the intersection of M-35 and County Rd. 480 The 10” Pipeline • Begins near County Rd. 480 near the existing ATC corridor • Extends north, then east along the UPPCO corridor to M-553 • Follows the road into Marquette 4

  5. MCP Benefits • 42-mile pipeline linking the existing NNG pipeline with the Great Lakes Gas Transmission system also running through the U.P. – Provides much needed “back - up” source of natural gas needed to reliably meet the area’s energy demands – Expands the area’s tax base – Greatly enhances the reliability and security of the natural gas delivery system in the U.P. – Expands the tax base • New tax dollars to invest in roads, schools, public safety and other local needs – Accommodates future growth and economic development • Energy stability = economic stability • An attractive selling point for business leaders and investors • Provides the added capacity the region needs to grow 5

  6. Administrative Update Regulatory Approval (Act-9) – Received August, 2017 Right of Way acquisition- completed – Pipeline crosses approximately 220 parcels and 122 landowners – The majority of property acquisition was completed in 2018 – The remaining parcels were completed in 2019 Cost Recovery – Will be determined in SEMCO’s current rate case 6

  7. Project Status A snowy winter in Marquette ROW flag tied to a branch in February is about 14’ off the ground in May. 7

  8. Construction Update • Pipeline construction is underway and on schedule – Tree felling was completed in May, 2019 – Pipeline construction began in June, 2019 • In service expected in November, 2019 – Ahead of our original schedule – Full Cleanup scheduled in 2019 – Some remediation may extend into 2020 8

  9. Details • 20” Pipeline – 76% of pipeline follows existing electrical or pipeline corridors – Land use is rural forest, low density-residential, mostly flat • 10” Pipeline – 66% of the pipeline follows existing electrical, pipeline and road ROW – Land use is rural forest, low density residential – Does enter Marquette city limits in order to connect with SEMCO’s existing infrastructure 9

  10. Pipe at Sawyer storage location Dun Transportation and Stringing excavator with vacuum pipe handling attachment adjacent to 20” Quadruple Random Length (QRL/80’) pipe stacked at Sawyer pipe yard 10

  11. Construction Mat Storage Price Gregory International mat yard at Sawyer storing approximately 14,000 mats 11

  12. Environmental • Marquette Connector Pipeline is being constructed to have minimal impact on the environment – Brush and trees have been cleared to accommodate construction • No permanently filled wetlands • Environmental inspections are taking place throughout construction to ensure conformance environmental best practices and compliance with all permitting requirements 12

  13. Local Impact • SEMCO is striving to minimize the impact of construction – Working with local areas to manage the impact when it occurs • NTN Trails • Marquette Trails Festival 13
