Uniform Plain navy blue knee-length pleated skirt - no shorter than 5cm above the knee. Shoes, black or navy, with low heels - sandals, trainers (including black leather), boots or backless shoes may not be worn. Canvas black pumps or trainers are not permitted. Toes must be covered by shoes.
Jewellery : One pair of earrings, studs or sleepers, may be worn: one earring, stud or sleeper in each lobe. Ear ‘stretchers’ are not permitted. A watch may be worn. Make-up, if worn, should be discreet but no nail varnish . No extremes of hair colour or hair style are permitted.

Homework • Departmental policies have been designed which outline expectations in each subject. • Tasks designed to maximise student understanding and inform classroom study. • Students will still have regular homework, updated on Show My Homework.

Assessment and Reporting Changes How we assess and report your child’s progress in Year 10
Reformed GCSEs • New content and modes of assessment introduced last year • All GCSEs for this year group, next year, will be awarded number ‘grades’ (9 -1) instead of letters Except: Psychology, Business, Mandarin, Textiles, Food and Product Design.
New BEP Targets Explained • We have created our own BEP targets, based on the information we have about their performance at KS2 and their cohort nationally • Achieving them will likely place students in top 25%+ nationally • No targets of 9 (this is practical NOT a lack of ambition!)

Work Experience 26 th June - 7 th July 96% found it interesting 92% of students who attended work experience last year found it enjoyable 81% said that it helped with their career direction For those students who organised their own placements, %’s were even higher!

July – November Work experience is launched. Paperwork handed out to 2016 pupils. Students to complete CVs during their PD lessons. Employers contacted for placements. 5th December 2016 Last date for returning Student Application forms and CVs if you would like the school to arrange your placement. January 2017 Students who have returned all correct paperwork given access to Webview and make choices for work placements.
January 9 th 2017 Last date for own placement forms. February 2017 onwards Confirm placements with students and parents and notify employers. Students briefed and prepared for work experience Summer Term during PD lessons. Students make contact with employers and for some interviews will take place. Work experience diaries handed out. 26 th June – 7th July 2017 All students at placements on work experience. July Students send thank you emails/letters to employers. Evaluations and debrief of experience.

GCSE Maths • Three end of year exams in June of Year 11 • No coursework 1 • One non-calculator paper, worth 3 1 • Two calculator papers worth each 3 • No difference in topics between the 3 papers
• Students need to build good study habits early • Tests towards the end of each short term • Revision lists at the start of each short term including suggested Mymaths tasks • Weekly homework sheets
