  3. 1. Exam schedule

  4. Exam Schedule • You are available during the full examination period (until 1 February). Check the student calenda r on the student portal (soc.kuleuven.be/student portal) • It is possible that extra exams can take place during the midterm break

  5. Exam schedule • Check your exam room one day before the exam. • Don’t forget to unsubscribe from the exam moment if you don’t take the exam! from two weeks before the start of the exam period Keep in mind that you’ll loose an exam chance

  6. Written exams • Be in time! +/- 15 minutes before the start of the exam Keep in mind that the public transport is not always on time o Too late? You can start the exam until 1/4 of the exam time has o passed. After that time, you’ll loose the exam chance. What do you take with you? • Student card • Writing tools (e.g. in a transparant bag) • (Watch) • (Something small to eat or drink)

Written exams • Bags, jackets … need to be in front of the exam room • During the exam and while entering the room there is complete silence • Mobile phones are switched off • Duration of the exam: mentioned on the first page of the exam bundle • Scratching papers are at your disposal to prepare your answer • Questions can be asked when the examiner enters the room • Sanitary break

  8. Oral exams • Group of students start together • You are entitled to at least 20 minutes of preparation time • Dress code: decent

Ombudsperson = independent mediater between students and examiners during fraud cases, disputes, exam rescheduling … • Rescheduling of the exams o Only in case of serious reasons (e.g. serious illness or death in the family) o Train strikes that are timely announced, are no circumstances beyond someone’s control. o Keep in mind : exam rescheduling is not an entitlement for students, even if you have a doctor’s note. The ombuds person sovereignly decides if it is possible to organise an extra exam. !Extra exams are not always favourable since they can be organised during the midterm break or in June • Mediation for students with special exam arrangements • Advisory role during the exam deliberations Problem during the exams? Inform the ombuds person timely.

Call the ombudsperson during office hours:  016/32.28.20 Only in case of very urgent matters that cannot wait:  0472/95.07.13 (and for exams on Saturday) IMPORTANT: if you cannot take an exam due to serious reasons, you’ll need to inform the ombudsperson BEFORE the start of the exam.

  17. Announcement of the exam results Thursday 8 February 2018 between 6PM and 10PM • You will receive an email on your KU Leuven student address. • Your examresults will be available in your study progress file in KU Loket.

  18. Feedback and review of the exams You can review your exams within 7 calendar days after the announce ments of the exam results. The feedback/review moments are fixed dates. www.soc.kuleuven.be/studentportal

  21. Third exam period • Obligatory registration BEFORE 12 July 2018 You’ll receive an email after the exams in June o • 16 August 2018 – 8 September 2018 • No advanced exam schedule (will be announced at the end of July)
