Tower Hamlets schools are facing huge cuts that will damage our schools and the education of our children… • 98.5% of schools are facing real term cuts in the next few years • Tower Hamlets schools are among the best in the country – partly because we are properly funded • Tower Hamlets will lose 13% of its budget despite having the highest number of children living in poverty in the UK (39%) • Tower Hamlets stands to lose £33,200,069 by 2019 (£908 per pupil; 891 teachers)
Already we are seeing the following across the country: • Cuts to support staff • Cuts to extra-curricular activities • Increased charging for music lessons etc. • Lack of funding for resources • Increased class sizes • Narrowing of the curriculum
