Te district issues laptops to all teachers (K-12) and high school students. Elementary and middle grades have carts of laptops.

¡ 1974: Northwood High School had the first dance education program in the state, funded through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. ¡ 2005: Mr. Holland's Opus Award Recipient (Northwood Arts Ed Dept) ¡ 2011: North Carolina Symphony’s Jackson Parkhurst Award Recipient (Eugene Cottrell, Northwood band director) ¡ 2011: First place winner in a National Junior Beta Club art competition (Tanner Henson, Bennett eighth grader)
