Sedro-Woolley High School • Graduation requires 30 completed credits. You don’t pass = NO credit. • Classes are every other day 1-4, 5-8. • 8 Classes, 80 Minute Periods • Advisory is not a scheduled period • Power Hour: Built in to HELP YOU! • Must follow Power Hour Schedule • Daily Homework. • Students must pass the State Assessments to graduate. (ELA, Sci, Math) • Attendance is Critical! • Clubs, Sports, Leadership • Organization is a Must!

POWER HOUR LUNCH What Power Hour Looks Like…. • Your Day Looks Like : 2 (80 min.) periods, PH Lunch, 2 (80 min.) periods. • Campus is Closed for Lunch! • Power Hour is 60 Minutes Long ✓ 30 Minutes is Assigned for Student Lunch ✓ 30 Minutes is Assigned by Teachers/Students to do the following: • Collect Missing Work, Finish Homework • Work with Teachers in Struggling Classes • Make up Tests, Quizzes, or Labs • Make Up PE Time and Absences • Attend Club Meetings and Sponsored Activities • Advisory and Interventions are during this time • Your lunch time will be based when your teacher eats lunch. This is not an hour lunch! 30 minutes is YOUR lunch- For the other 30 minutes you must be in one of the locations above!
Power Hour Schedule • Shows advisory dates and holidays • Students passing with a D+ or below must attend assigned Power Hour • Teachers may assign Power Hour to you • Failure to show up to assigned Power Hour results in after school detentions. • Sign into room when you enter and leave.

State Testing Requirements Washington State Graduation Requirements 2023 • ENGLISH – 10 th grade in the Spring Tested on Reading and Writing. • MATH – 10 th grade in the Spring Tested on Algebra, Geometry and some Advanced Algebra concepts. • SCIENCE – 11 th grade in the Spring Test Is Based on Integrated Science Standards. ** Students must meet State testing requirements (Smarter Balanced) or assessment for students in special education.**
HSBP: HS AND BEYOND PLAN • The High School and Beyond Plan is the steps you plan to take after graduation • You will complete your HSBP through advisory adding and updating information each year • Students will create a four year course plan, mapping the classes they will take in high school • Graduation requirements will help students select classes more relevant to their HSBP called PPRs or Personalized Pathways Requirement

Planning Your Schedule • Registration • You are making your YEAR LONG Schedule. • Semester One and Two • Choose wisely. You will not be allowed to Change classes freely next year! • Failing to make a schedule means, you will be stuck with what you are given without the ability to change classes. • You will Select 8 Classes for each semester (16 Total) • Year Long Classes: English, Math, Science, World Lang, Music • S – Semester course, Y- Year Course • You Must Select 8-10 Alternative Classes in case your first choice classes are full. Again, pick wisely!

Open to any student— Even if you are currently in AVID or not.
