State Funded Scholarships  Hope Scholarship  Up to $2800 for Freshman Year only – 3.0 or higher  No application prior to college admission  Life Scholarship  $5000 at 4 year/ up to Full Tuition at 2 Year.  3.0 or higher and 1100 SAT/24 ACT OR Top 30%  No application prior to college admission  Palmetto Fellows Scholarship  $6700/$7500 at 4 year colleges only. Has an application process. Top 6%; 1200 SAT/27 ACT or 4.0 GPA with 1400 SAT/32 ACT  Application Required

NCAA ELIGIBILITY Seniors seeking Division I or II on NAIA athletic eligibility should have:  Registered with the appropriate Eligibility Center and have an end of 11 th grade transcript on file  Have a preliminary Core GPA calculation – 10 of the 16 are locked in  Submitted Qualifying SAT/ACT to NCAA  Use the resources at: www.web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/

  17. Considerations  Free/Reduced Lunch status – qualified students can use fee waivers for 2 administrations of SAT/ACT, NCAA Eligibility, 4 College Application Fees ……  Obtain one sealed copy of your final transcript and a copy of your Immunization Record after graduation.

Turn In To Guidance  Diplomas will be ordered using legal name on birth certificate  Copy of all college acceptance letters as they are received  Copy of all scholarship offers even if you don’t accept them. These will be listed in the graduation program.  Proof of enlistment in military  Proof of employment

  19. Before Graduation Practice  Official Request for FINAL Transcript to be sent to ONE college  Official Final Transcript request for NCAA, Military Recruiter, etc.

  20. Honors and Awards for Seniors

  21. Graduation Honors  Valedictorian - #1 Ranking in Senior Class at the end of the year  Salutatorian - #2 in Senior Class at the end of the year  Distinguished Honor Graduate – 4.37 or higher  Honor Graduate – 4.0 – 4.3699

Academic Letter  Presented in May 2020 for seniors only  Determination made on grades through 3 rd quarter of 2019 – 2020 academic year  Overall final grade average for the year of 88 or higher with no final grade below 80; enrollment in at least 5 courses.  Actual numerical grades are used for all classes and no grades are rounded up

Diploma of Distinction  Earn at least 28 credits  Overall 4.0 GPA or higher  1100 on SAT or 24 ACT Composite  4 units completed in each core area  3 or more AP or Dual Enrollment credits  3 levels of the same world language  50 hours of Community Service by April of Senior Year or involvement school organization or service related club

  24. Graduation Cords  Ready to Work Level - Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum Cords  Major Completer Cords for earning four credits in a major area  School Based Honor Society or CATE Completer Cords *Only cords and medals earned in DD2 can be worn at Graduation

Graduation Practice  May 27 at 7:45am at SHS  Mandatory for all grads who plan to walk  All financial obligations must be cleared before grad practice  Each student will receive 2 parking passes for graduation. (Offsite parking and shuttle buses will be available for graduation day.)  Cap & gown is given to students at grad practice, unless there is an obligation to SHS or Jostens.

  27. Graduation Practice  Students will receive:  Cords, diploma of distinction medals, distinguished honor/honor grad medals  Cap/gown  Transcript  Coupons, letters, and other misc items  Graduation day maps and instructions

  28. Graduation Attire  Females: skirt/dress/dress pants with blouse; dress shoes  Males: dress pants, dress shirt, tie, dress shoes  Not allowed: jeans, sneakers, t-shirts, altered caps, non-DD2 regalia

  29. Graduation  May 30, 2020 at 9am at the N. Chas Coliseum  Students arrive by 8am to get in line  Main doors open by 8am for guests  Ceremony lasts approx. 1.5 hours  Disruptive guests will be escorted out

  30.
