This is a numeral values based on the point a students gain from 8 subjects. Subjects are differently weighted with some being compulsory. All the subjects are placed in categories called “Groups or buckets” Group 1 Double Double Group 2 Group 3 Ebacc qualifications English and Maths Open group Science, Computer Double weighted Technology, Arts, vocations science, humanities qualifications and other approves subjects

SEMH is an overarching term for people who demonstrate difficulties with emotional regulation and/or social interaction and/or are experiencing mental health problems. We all have SEMH? We all have good or bad days. Depending on our internal resilience and support systems a bad day may impact on our mental wellbeing.

S ocial E motional M ental H ealth What is the scale of the need? 8% of 5 to 10 year olds had a sighs and symptoms which could lead to a clinically diagnosed mental health need There are 42,143children ages between 5 and 10 which means we are similar to the national picture we would have 3371 needing support 12% of 11 to 16 year olds had a sighs and symptoms which could lead to a clinically diagnosed mental health need There are 27,241children ages between 11 and 16 which means we are similar to the national picture we would have 3269 needing support 1. S ocial E motional and M ental H ealth as a special education needs Within Cornwall to support SEMH more widely There is a lot of support from education, health and social care teams across Cornwall. Some of the main teams that you could seek support from are: • Early support • Virtual school • Inclusion support funding (ISF) • Locality teams • Headstart community and school based teams • Early inclusion team • Educational Welfare Service • Healthy schools team • SEN support services • ASC team / ASC parenting support • Council commissioned YPC services e.g. Kooth • CAMHS / CAPS • School nurse / health visitors – expanded service • Youth offending service • Speech and language service • New PHSE program - TBC
