STATE ASSESSMENTS Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners(ACCESS) • Four sections (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking) • Testing will be January 26th-27th (7:30 AM) • Letters will be sent home with information about the test. Florida Standard Assessment (FSA) • Three sections of ELA (Writing, 2 Reading Sections) • Working on a new more individualized testing plan • Letters will be send with the specific dates to you by late April • Testing starts in May Other Possible Assessments • US HISTORY EOC • BIOLOGY EOC • GEOMETRY EOC • AICE/AP EXAMS
ELL ACCOMMODATIONS • Students who are active participants (LY) in the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program have the opportunity to receive accommodations during testing. These same accommodations must also be provided on a regular basis during classroom instruction and assessments. • Flexible setting - small group, separate room • Flexible timing - additional time to take the test • Flexible scheduling - administration of test in several brief sessions within one school day • Use of an English-to-heritage language/heritage language-to-English dictionary or glossary • Assistance in the heritage language
REQUIRED COURSES • English (4) • Mathematics (4) Algebra 1, Geometry, 2 Math elective courses • Science (3) Biology, Physical Science, Science elective • History (3) World History, Us History, Government .5, Economics .5 •PE (.5) and Personal Fitness (.5) •Performing/Practical Art (1) • Electives (8) • Total credit courses- 24 and 18 (early graduation) • 20 Community hours are required and an Online class

SAT/ACT TEST SCHEDULE • Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch can receive waivers for the cost of the test. • When waivers arrive, our office will work with the seniors initially to register them for tests.
PREPARATION FOR ACT/SAT • Be on time • Use all the resources available to you • Work double time in English/Reading/Math Class • ask questions • speak up if you don’t understand • Go to tutoring! • SAT/ACT specific Reading boot-camps • National Honor Society(NHS)- Tutoring after school on Thursdays • dates will be given to the students • Those students with waivers received an online tutoring tool for free. • ACT Prep App • Media Center Calendar • Khan Academy • ACT/ books • For more information, contact any of the ESOL personnel
