Community Service & Foreign Language Neither Community Service nor Foreign Language graduation requirements. Both are required for some scholarships – like 2 of the 3 types of Bright Futures. Foreign Languages are recommended for college-bound students, and 2 consecutive years are required for 4-year university admissions. Community Service Hours Can begin to earn hours the summer between 8 th and 9 th grade. Student Application and Parent Approval Form and Record of Volunteer Hours signed by a supervisor are required. An Agency Form may be required. High School Credit (75 hours for ½ credit – maximum 1.0 credit) Bright Futures Scholarships Florida Academic Scholar – 100 hours Florida Medallion Scholar – 75 hours Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholar – 30 hours Graduation Recognitions – Silver Cords require 250 hours or more

Registration Sheets English, Math, Science, History, Reading, and PE will be scheduled for all 9 th grade students based on current courses, grades, test scores, and teacher recommendations. Teacher signature required for AP courses, and some electives Registration Sheets are focused on elective choices. Choose 5 electives and rank them in order. Parent and Student signature are required. Guidance Counselors will sign when received. Registration Sheets are due Friday, March 18, 2016.
