Rotary YMCA Camp Tillicum 2013
What a summer! • The 2013 YMCA Rotary Camp Tillicum provided children the chance to enjoy the summer camp experience. Offering both full and part- time, Camp Tillicum reached out to Approx 600 youth in North Bay. • Activities such as swimming, crafts, nature lore, archery, canoeing/kayaking, basketball,volleyball ,obstacle course filled the days with fun and adventure!

The Counsellors • 10 Counsellors and 1 Camp Director • All counsellors have the same focus to foster self-confidence and build self-esteem. • Counsellors assist in the experiential education of all campers helping them learn problem solving skills, conflict resolution and leadership. • All counsellors receive 1 week of hands on training developed around the Healthy Child and Development and CATCH training.

New in 2013 • We were able to purchase new canoes and kayaks. The staff and kids were so happy! • Wish lists….Get cabins fixed!!
Ontario Camping Association • Summer 2008 was the final stage of OCA accreditation. • The OCA assists with promotion, staffing needs, program ideas, resources and development. • OCA membership assists YMCA Rotary Camp Tillicum keep its high level of programming and up-to- date safety standards within the day/residential camping community.
