  3. Summer Camp 2020 • We will be covering the policies and procedures this evening that are new for this summer • We ask you to use the chat box with any questions that you might have • We will take time to answer questions after the presentation YMCA of GREATER PITTSBURGH

  4. Summer Camp 2020 • The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh is following guidance from the CDC, and the Allegheny County Department of Health. • Our policies and procedures could be adjusted if recommendations change. • Summer camp will look & feel different this year. • What will be the same as always is smiling faces, friendship making, being outdoors, being a kid, & having fun! • Communication is more important than ever. We ask for all parents and guardians to work together with us to support these changes and be a partner with us to provide your children with a safe summer camp experience! YMCA of GREATER PITTSBURGH

  5. What can you do to prepare your child for YMCA Summer Camp this year? • Camp will look different but they will still have fun • Remind them to keep personal space. • Practice wearing a face mask • Practice proper handwashing • Practice keeping hands away from their faces YMCA of GREATER PITTSBURGH

  6. Updates & Changes for Summer 2020 Due to the current pandemic situation, we are following the CDC, Y-USA, ACA & DHS guidelines to ensure the safety of our campers, staff, & families. We understand it is disappointing to not have certain aspects of our typical summer camp program. We appreciate your support for the best interest for all. • Swimming pools are currently closed; therefore, there will be no swimming at this time. If the pool situation changes, we will reevaluate this decision. • For safety reasons, all field trips and busing has been cancelled for this summer. • We are also not allowing on site presentations. We are limiting the number of people interacting with the youth. YMCA of GREATER PITTSBURGH

  7. Group Sizes • Each group of 22 will run as their own mini-camp within the larger camp • Each camper will be placed in an age-appropriate group. Children will remain with their assigned groups each week. We will keep a 1 to 11 max staff to child ratio. • The groups sizes will not exceed 22, including 2 staff members per group. The groups will have the same staff all week. The only time this would change is if there is a staff call off & a sub will be in place. • Groups will not be permitted to intermix in a large group setting during the camp day. • Each group will be given an assigned “home base” area that will only be used by that group. Each group will also be assigned a bathroom and hand washing station. We are bringing in additional porta potties and hand washing stations to accommodate. • When seated at picnic tables, we will space the children out in seating arrangements 6 feet apart from each other. Their seats will be clearly marked. YMCA of GREATER PITTSBURGH

  8. Sick Child Procedures • If your child does not feel well or there are other members in your household who are sick, please keep your child home. • If needed, temperatures will be checked anytime during the day if a staff member can visually see symptoms of sickness in a child. • If a child is sick on site, they will wait for their parents to pick them up, in a separate location from the group, with a camp staff member. • If there were to be a confirmed case of Covid-19 the YMCA will follow CDC guidelines to shut down our facility for proper cleaning & disinfecting. Parents would be notified by email. YMCA of GREATER PITTSBURGH

  9. Drop Off at Camp • Before-Camp Program will run from 7-9am. The camp day will run from 9am-4pm. • The staff will come to your vehicle. Please have your child’s first & last name in large print on a paper on your dashboard (this is how we will get to your account quickly on the tablet to sign your child in for the day. Keep this in view daily at check-in) • Your child may step out of the vehicle. The staff will take their temperature. If the temperature is under 100.3°F, your child will get their belongings for the day and the staff will direct them on where to go. • The staff will sign them in for you on our tablet. • Parents do not get out of their vehicle. • Our staff will wear a face mask. We recommended you do the same. • Allow for extra time this year so we can follow all new safety procedures! • Please be patient as you wait your turn to get your child safely dropped off at camp.
