CAMP OBJECTIVES To develop self-leadership within Gabrielites for the purpose of learning: 1. the values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Care (3RC), 2. the social skills of teamwork and collaboration and, 3. the Social Emotional Learning competencies of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management and responsible decision making. 3

  4. Duration & Location of Camp ● 4D / 3N: 13 Jan (Mon) to 16 Jan (Thu) ● Overnight stay at MOE Changi Coast Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre ● Assemble 13 Jan (Mon) @ 7.15am @ SGSS ● Dismissal 16 Jan (Thu) b/w 12.00pm to 1.00pm @ SGSS 4

  7. Activities ● Pre/Post Camp CCE lessons ● Daily reflections at camp ● Artificial Caving ● Tent Pitching ● Coastal Exploration (Land Ex) ● Rafting or Kayaking ● High Elements (Abseiling, Rock Climbing, CRC) ● Low Elements ● Mini-campfire 7

  8. Camp Cost ● Heavily subsidised camp, students to pay only $40. ● Edusave (Singaporean) / Cash / Cheque. ● Cash / Cheque needed if Edusave account is depleted or if you are an foreign student. ● Payment to be made when consolidated payment letter is given out. Do not pay now. 8

Safety Reminders ● Wearing of shoes for all activities. ● Listen to instructions of all teachers and instrutors at the camp. ● No fooling around. ● Inform teachers and camp instructors if you are feeling unwell. ● Drink plenty of water (Bring your 1.5L water-bottle) and put on sun block – wear a cap if necessary. 9

  10. Safety Reminders ● Do NOT bring large amount of cash. ● No handphones or any other electronic gadgets allowed during camp. ● No snacks allowed (E.g. Potato chips, chocolate bars) during the camp. ● Please pack wallets and handphones in a ziplock bag and label it. ● Bags will be subjected to checks during the camp. 10

  12. Packing of Essential Camping Items ● Refer to recommended packing list in camp letter on Parents’ Gateway or school website. ● Pack the essential recommended items. ● Do no over or under pack your camp items. 12

  13. Communication for Urgent Matters 1. If student really needs to contact parents/guardians from campsite, then school will make the contact from campsite. 2. If parents/guardians needs to contact student during office hours (8am to 5pm), then call general office at 62889470 to inform. 3. If parents/guardians needs to contact student during non-office hours (5.01pm to 7.59am ), then call 98258432 (Mr Alvin Goh) to inform. Please call only for URGENT matters especially if it is during non-office hours as there will not be enough manpower to handle call-load if the lines are flooded. 13

  14. Camp Admin Matters (Very Important) ● Fill in parent acknowledgement form and student’s particulars through Parents’ Gateway . Refer to handout given on how to register for Parents’ Gateway ● before filling in the online form if you do not have an account. If you are unable to register for Parents’ Gateway, fill in a hardcopy ● of the form now and submit it back to the form teacher once completed (by today). 14
