Regulatory Update S.896 - Innovative Stormwater Infrastructure Act of 2015 Introduced to the Senate on April 13 Referred to the Committee on Environment and Public Works Bill aims to create Centers of Excellence for innovative stormwater control infrastructure, and provide grants for eligible entities to carry out innovative stormwater control infrastructure projects
FY2015 Work Program Update Public Education Task Force FY15 project (pesticide/fertilizer outreach) is being developed Cooperative Purchase: All the items are distributed Doo the Right Thing Calendar Contest /Pet Waste Pledge: dfwstormwater.com/petwaste is updated with 2016 Calendar Photo Contest info; the news release template and sample social media posts are available Texas SmartScape plant sales are in progress
FY2015 Work Program Update Pollution Prevention (P2) Regional standard operating procedures document (FY2014 project) finalized by P2 and sent to RSWMCC for review and approval Best management practices posters project is continuing to be developed Mansfield site tour held May 12; potential site tour to be held in the fall in Grand Prairie
FY2015 Work Program Update Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination (IDDE) IDDE best management poster series is continuing to be developed Dry Weather Field Screening/IDDE Basic Training Workshop – June 8, 2015 in Carrollton IDDE Video (Spanish Translation) – Translation is done and will be available for distribution soon Advanced IDDE Training Development – Training to occur in FY2016
FY2015 Work Program Update Stormwater Monitoring Program Completed Year 4 (2014) Annual Regional Monitoring Report and submitted to TCEQ 1 st quarter 2015 samples collected and data reported 2 nd quarter 2015 samples collected Began planning for next monitoring permit term Current sampling ends Dec 2015
FY2015 Work Program Update Public Works Coordination Conducted Construction Stormwater Inspection training class on May 7; next class is August 18 iSWM outreach to city managers and elected officials
FY2016 Cost Shares Cost share email was sent March 18 th based on 2014 population estimates Overall program budget and individual participant cost shares increased an average of 10%
FY2016 Work Program Presented new project options for FY2016 in February Options were approved Have incorporated new projects into Draft FY2016 Work Program Seek Council approval to proceed
Water Quality Update Bacteria TMDL technical subcommittees had second annual meetings to evaluate implementation strategies Coordination Committee Meeting June 3, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Basin-Wide Approach New 303(d) Vision Upper Trinity River Basin Coordinating Committee May 20, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Informational meeting for the purpose of establishing an Upper Trinity River Basin Coordinating Committee. Open to all Upper Trinity River Basin Coordinating Committee invitees and their representatives. 2015 Water Quality Management Plan posted for public comment: www.nctcog.org/waterresources
