Quality and tradition A personalized family environment Founded in 1966 by Mathilde and Jean Wegmüller, Chantemerle is a private boarding and day school. Chantemerle welcomes Swiss and international students ages 6 through 18 for school year programs, study abroad programs and summer/winter camps. With a maximum of 70 students, our school is known for the quality of its teaching and its personalized family atmosphere. The languages spoken at Chantemerle are French and English. Beautifully located in nature, overlooking Lake Geneva and the Swiss alps, Chantemerle offers a peaceful, healthy and structured learning environment.

In this increasingly complex and rapidly changing world, we remind our students daily the importance of nature in their lives. Connecting with nature is a challenge for the new generation. Success for all Children with learning differences 1 in 5 students are presenting with learning differences (reading, number and motor skill disorders, attention- deficit hyperactivity disorder, high achievers). Recognizing and valuing these differences is a major challenge for any education system. At Chantemerle, students with learning differences are integrated into the regular class according to their age. In order to facilitate this integration, the teachers, the student and the parents, often with external specialist help, work together to implement a personalized coaching plan. Feeling understood and accepted, the student regains confidence and self-esteem. In small groups, surrounded by attentive and trained teachers, the student can progress at his/her own pace.
Study abroad / Immersion A life changing experience From September to June, Chantemerle proposes long and short term immersion programs (up to 10 months). Immersion can be done in French or in English with the possiblity to validate a full academic year abroad with official grade reports (Swiss or IB program). Study abroad or gap year is usually well accepted as time abroad and additional foreign languages add value to a student ’ s future college applications. SPORT-ART-STUDY programs Following your dreams Our SPORT-ART-STUDY programs are specifically designed to elite sport or art students to pursue an official academic education along with intensive art or sport training (8-12 hours / week). Most candidates for these programs are high achiever, motivated and autonomous students looking to join elite competition teams or access to US universities with sport scholarships.
