  1. What is Classlist? Classlist is a private parent social network for your school where you can create class, year or school contact lists and send group or one-to-one messages. 14. Who’s behind Classlist? Classlist founders Susan Burton and Clare Wright have three children each. Having moved around with their families in the UK and abroad, tried to meet other parents and organise play dates, they decided there had to be an easier way. “Sometimes there would be a super-organised class rep with an Excel or Word document where we could add our details to a class list. Sometimes there wasn't, or the list was wrong or out of date, or we lost it. And then next year, the same again... for three children each” says Susan. “We thought there must be a better way to connect with other parents, without the whole world getting your personal details” says Clare. So they created Classlist.com “Easier than email, better than Facebook” That’s what one happy parent had to say about Classlist.

  15. Rules of Conduct Classlist, as any other commutation channel, must be used appropriately and in line with the school and PTA values such as Respect and Responsibility . • Please be respectful, polite and understanding. It is not allowed to name a child, a teacher or anyone else in a negative way for instance. • Prefer constructive critics to moaning. Sometimes talking directly with the concerned person solves most of the issue. • Please keep your content relevant. • You are responsible for anything you post. Please avoid the posting and sharing of spam, click bait and the like. • Class Groups have been created to enable parents and carers to communicate regarding school matters. Please stick to this rule. • Think twice and thrice before posting to the Whole School . • Please make sure you post the message to the correct class / group. Please use Message (private) to an individual if necessary, rather than using the group facility. • Please use School Runs, Events, Listings, Community Groups and other features in a responsible manner.
