EGEC Activities: Policy & public affairs • EGEC represents its members in relations with the European institutions, offering access to decision-makers and support to influence legislation and European policies. • Members participate in the process through their voluntary contribution to working groups and task forces composed by experts from the industry and the research sector. • Currently, there are three active EGEC task forces on: • Heat pumps; • District heating; • Electricity Market design.

EGEC Activities: Market Intelligence • Members receive intelligence on regular basis through our monitoring, analysis and research on new regulations and financial developments that affect the geothermal industry, including guidance and advice on EU funds available for the geothermal sector and preview information about Horizon 2020 calls financed by the European Union. • Examples of recent EGEC publications on market intelligence: • 2016 Geothermal Market Report; • 2016 Guide to EU Funding for geothermal projects

EGEC Activities: Communication & Events • EGEC encourages promotion and networking between and on behalf of its members to encourage new business opportunities. • Members additionally receive discounts on the price of tickets and exhibition space at EGEC events such as the upcoming European Geothermal Congress (EGC 2019) or partner events like Geotherm Offenburg. • Recent major EGEC events: • EGC 2016 in Strasbourg; • Geothermal Offenburg 2016; • EURACTIV Conference on renewable heating and cooling. • Inventory of geothermal events on EGEC’s website .

EGEC main publication: the Geothermal Market Report • Each year, EGEC members receive the exclusive EGEC Geothermal Market Report. • Since its first edition in 2011, this publication is an authoritative overview of the geothermal sector in Europe, covering subjects ranging from deep geothermal for electric power and district heating to shallow geothermal, in addition to specific issues across the geothermal sector.
