Road Safety For Our Pupils
ROAD SAFETY FOR OUR PUPILS Anderson Primary School is committed to the safety and well-being of our pupils within and outside the school premises; and seeks the partnership of all parents in educating our children about the importance of road safety.
Help educate your child to cross public roads on their way to / from school in a safe manner. Do not allow pupils to cross the road when the “green man” is flashing and there are less than ten seconds left to cross. Remind your child to Be alert to traffic conditions Adhere to traffic rules at all times
Traffic Wardens (made up of Parent Volunteers) are deployed during school’s peak hours to ensure order and safety for all pupils .

Arrival Procedure ( For parents who drive ) • Reduced speed limit (Speed limit within school compound is 10 km per hour) • Allow your child to alight only on the left side of vehicle at the drop-off zone. • If the pupil in the vehicle in front is slow to alight, do not overtake for safety reasons.

When exiting the school, please take note of the pedestrians crossing at the exit gate.

P1 Recess time - 9.05 am to 9.35 am • P4 pupils, prefects, teachers, staff and parent volunteers will be around to help pupils buy food. • Parents/guardians are allowed to observe P1 pupils during their recess at school canteen for the first 4 days of school (from 3 to 6 January 2017).

Preparation for Transition Social-Emotional & Physical Well-being
• Speak to your child to prepare him/her for the new routine • Encourage your child to make new friends and get along with one another • Guide your child to seek help from a teacher or an admin staff when he/she is unwell in school • Guide your child to use his/her pocket money wisely during recess and after-school • Guide your child to follow the school rules and display our school values through his/her actions
• Establish a good sleeping habit as early as possible • Encourage your child to participate in healthy activities • Ensure your child is about to manage basic self-care routines • Examples: going to the toilet and feeding himself/herself during recess
• MOE has developed an activity book as a resource for parents to support the transition from pre- school to Primary 1 • Consists of 10 tips and 50 suggested activities to help parents with the transition and familiarise the child with some common routines in primary schools
