Aims for Physical Education • To develop competence to excel in a broad range of activities. • For all children to be physically active for sustained periods of time. • For children to engage in competitive sports and activities. • To give every child the physical literacy, emotional and thinking skills in PE, sport and life. • To encourage all children to lead healthy and active lives.

  3. Planning – Real PE ❑ Real PE is a unique, child centred approach that transforms how PE is taught to engage and challenge every child in school. ❑ It provides fun and simple to follow Schemes of Work which are fully aligned to the National Curriculum and Ofsted requirements.

  4. Real PE ❑ It focuses on the development of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning through its unique approach to teaching and learning in PE ❑ Real PE consists of six cogs with a curriculum map for each year group. ❑ https://real.jasmineactive.com/

  5. Planning – PE Offer • Real PE is taught for one lesson of PE and the second lesson is split between invasion games, striking and fielding games, net/wall games, gymnastics and dance.

  6. Sports 2018-2019 • We took part in 27 competitions/festivals in 2018- 2019. • We won 3 golds, 2 silvers and 4 bronzes.

  7. 11/10/18 – Year 5 & 6 Netball High Five Competition – came 1 st winning Gold medal

  8. 21/11/18 - Boccia A competition 3 rd place (Bronze)

  9. 28/11/18 - Boccia B/C competition – Team A came 2 nd winning Silver, Team B came 7 th Team C came 6 th .

  10. 25/1/19 Year 5 & 6 Indoor Athletic Finals 3 rd place (Bronze).

  11. 5/3/19 Kickstart Competition Team A - 3 rd place (Bronze) Team B - 8 th out of 13 schools.

  12. 22/5/19 Badminton Festival Team A won Gold Team B came 7 th out of 17 schools.

  13. 6/6/19 Mini Tennis Orange Competition Team A won Gold beating Binfield in the Gold/Silver match Berkshire School Games at Bisham Abbey Mini Tennis Orange Competition 3 rd winning a Bronze medal.

  14. 11/6/19 Bracknell Forest Athletics Year 5 & 6 Championships 2 nd place ( Silver).

  15. Bracknell Forest Kwik Cricket Year 6A and Girls Competition Girl’s team lost to Whitegrove in the Final winning the Silver medal

  16. Schools Netball League 2019 The winners of the Schools Netball League 2019 ST. JOSEPH’S

  17. Sports Premium 2019/20 • Outdoor Gym • Bracknell Forest Service Level Agreement for Sport • To sustain participation in organised inter and intra school competitions • Replenish the School PE Equipment i.e. balls, racquets

  18. Data & assessment • Real PE has its own PE assessment framework • Children assess each other on their FUNS challenges with the teacher overseeing this. • Teacher records data on assessment sheet.

  19. Actions for 2019/2020 • To teach one REAL PE lesson and the second to be focused on invasion games, gymnastics or dance. • To encourage more physical activity throughout the school day using programmes such as Go Noodle and Supermovers. • To review how the ‘Cogs for Learning -Multi Abilities’ can be integrated across the curriculum
