Olympics • Surfing included as a demonstration sport in Tokyo Games August 2016 • WSL athletes will be released to attempt to qualify for the Olympics • 40 athletes will compete in the Olympics • Up to 18 places reserved for WSL competitors • 20 places will be for top athletes from 2019 & 2020 World Surfing Games and Pan American Games. • Japan will have 1 male and 1 female surfer as host nation • Final criteria will be confirmed this month by IOC
GB Olympic Surf Team • Qualifying athletes will represent Great Britain • Athletes could come from any of the Home Nations • Athletes need to target a great result at World Games 2019/20

Funding for Grass Roots Development • Currently being looked at by Surfing England • Mass participation of 5-15 year olds is a key investment driver
