TF-NOC, a summary from 2010 to 2013 › TF-NOC has been a useful way to: › share information between members of the community › collect how things are done inside the different types of NOCs › discuss how to enhance them › But…the members of this community are extremely busy people dealing with the daily operations of their networks => Many of them cannot afford to invest the load of work that involves being an action leader or writing deliverables as expected from a Task Force.
A new mandate for TF-NOC › The work item leaders, acting as co-chairs, proposed to re- charter the Task Force for 18 months . › The aim is to continue sharing and investigating within the spirit of openness and collaboration . › The new TF-NOC will be an open forum with a core team formed by 3 or 4 co-chairs with the support and under the auspices of TERENA. › Now the Steering Committee is formed by Maria Isabel Gandia (CESCA), Pieter Hanssens (Belnet), Jonny Lundin (NORDUnet), Brian Nisbet (HEAnet). › Light-weight Terms of Reference. › Possible migration into a SIG if the TERENA Technical Programme makes it possible.
A new mandate for TF-NOC › The Task Force will maintain: › the mailing list (tf-noc@terena.org) › the website (http://www.terena.org/activities/tf-noc/) › the wiki (https://confluence.terena.org/display/NOC/) › The Task Force will organize 2 meetings per year. › The secretary, appointed by TERENA, will be responsible for taking the minutes at the 2 meetings, and for making logistical arrangements. › TF-NOC could also organize other small workshops or BoFs co-located with other meetings.
