Booking Exercise for MOE SPONSORED-OBS STUDENT LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME (OBSSLP) SECONDARY SCHOOLS ONLY
Objectives of OBSSLP To enable students to lead groups in an outdoor setting; To empower students to make sound decisions and judgement under challenging outdoor circumstances; and To encourage students to interact and mix with students from diverse backgrounds while in the outdoors.
Selection Criteria for OBSSLP Selected students must fulfil the following criteria: Singapore Citizen Secondary 3 (in the year of course) and / or Sec 2 for November/December courses onwards Holding a leadership appointment within the school or show leadership potential Medically fit (students are required to go for Medical Examination to certify fit to attend an OBS course) Able to attend the entire duration of the course

Administrative Timeline Time Action 2 – 3 months prior to start PSOEB / OBS send administrative package to of course participating schools via email 7 weeks before start of PSOEB will send email reminder to schools on the course (or 1 week before submission deadline of forms to PSOEB/OBS submission deadline) 6 weeks (or earlier) before Schools to submit forms to PSOEB / OBS course Actual Course Teacher to check in students on first day of programme and receive students on last day of programme

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) My school is selected for the Multi-School Secondary 3 Cohort Camp in 2017. Can my school participate in the MOE Sponsored-OBS Student Leadership Programme? No. School is eligible for one programme only. This is to give more students the opportunity to participate in an OBS programme.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What happens if the student falls sick during the course? OBS has a medical centre managed by registered nurses. When a student falls sick, the student will be accessed by the nurses. If medical consultation is needed, the nurse will follow the student and the school will be informed.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What happens if the student is absent from the camp? Once enrolled into the programme, student is expected to be present. If he / she is absent due to medical reason or any other valid reason(s), school will need to submit the medical certificate / letter to PSOEB.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Does the school need to bear the cost of places that it is unable to fill? The course is fully sponsored by MOE. Once the places are allocated to the school, it is the school’s responsibility to fill the places. In the event that you are unable to fulfill all the places booked, please inform PSOEB at least 6 weeks before the commencement of the course.
