MODARIA II WG 4 : Working Group 4 Transfer processes and data for - PowerPoint PPT Presentation

MODARIA II WG 4 : Working Group 4 Transfer processes and data for radiological impact assessment SG1: Terrestrial, freshwater and marine K d SG2: Fukushima data SG3: Non-temperate systems Progress and Status of K d Sub group 1

  1. MODARIA II WG 4 : Working Group 4 – Transfer processes and data for radiological impact assessment • SG1: Terrestrial, freshwater and marine K d • SG2: Fukushima data • SG3: Non-temperate systems

  2. Progress and Status of K d Sub group 1 • Prototype K d database populated with soil, freshwater and marine data. • Discussions held on what can be achieved within the timeframe of MODARIA II (October 2019). Focus will be on: • A detailed report on database structure • Database populated with Cs data for soil, freshwater and marine K d . • Template for the extraction of Cs data from the database by users. • Discussions with MODARIA II WG1 on end-user requirements for database.

  3. Next Steps for K d Sub group 1 • Further refinement of marine K d data to reduce variability by taking salinity into account. • Inclusion of published Japanese Cs K d data for freshwater and marine environments. • Review Cs soil dataset to look at other factors influencing K d variability e.g. EC, K Exch . • To develop draft outline of user interface for Cs for K d database based on end-user requirements.

  9. Humid tropical soil-to-plant TF data • Recently started • Old Data issues: • Previous Tropical TF CRP data not published even though included in TRS 472. Will be published as an annex to MODARIA II report. • Accessibility to all previous Tropical TF used in TRS 472 needed. • A.I. has helped make the old TF data available. • Old data needs filtering to include/exclude info based on newly adopted KG class A • In: Australia, Brazil, Bangladesh, Thailand, Vietnam, Marshall Islands • ? India • Elsewhere: Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Greece, Turkey, Syria • QC needed to ensure that data from each country only refer to KG class A

  10. • New data • Template circulated and 1 formatted set has been returned (India) another has been promised (North Australian native fruits) • Prelim. literature search 2009-Present identified 14 useful papers plus original 4. Data need to be checked and transcribed into template.
