• Familiarize unit stakeholders with Zoom Recruiting Event Plan, • Resources, and the meeting Outline • Show where resources exist and how to use them • Discuss tools that show current unit membership situation and areas for potential growth • Discuss and display where unit leaders can find program supports for Fall activities • Gain Pack commitments for Zoom Recruiting Events between August 31- September 3, 2020 4
• Partnership between Council Membership Committee and Packs • Hosting Invitation-Only Zoom Recruiting events between August 31- September 3, 2020 • Families will have the opportunity to join your Pack during the event 5
• Widespread marketing in the form of Yard signs, Geofences, boosted/shared posts, press releases, and engagement of influencers • Interested families will be given a link to the recruiting event that corresponds with the date selected by their local unit • The Council Membership Team will lead the first part of the Recruiting event and will discuss Scouting’s Safe Environment and what positive outcomes youth will exhibit after a year in Scouting 6
After the Safe Scouting and positive outcomes introduction each unit and potential new family will be moved to a pre-sorted break- out session (15 minutes) where families can meet new leaders, discuss specific events, answer questions, and have the opportunity to join. Gary Carroll’s phone number (301) 633-5456 will be available to text or call if there is any difficulty in the breakout session. Everyone will be brought back into the main webinar room to conclude the event. 7
In this session, the Council Membership team will welcome all new families and will outline the following: • What Scouting is all about • How it works (ages and dens) • The positive outcomes for youth and families • The methods we deliver these outcomes We will also cover what families can do to have the best experience in Scouting including: • Parents and Scouts participating together • Visiting the Council Camps • Participating in fundraisers to help the Scouting grow • How the Scout Shop can enhance a family’s experience 8
In this part of the join event, perspective members will hear from our membership committee about why now is the safest time to be in Scouting. They will include: • Scouting’s continued commitment to youth protection • Our strong support of diversity in youth and volunteer leadership • Our support of families from all faiths and beliefs • Scouting’s dedication to make programs accessible to all youth 9
In this section of the join event, perspective members and unit representatives will be moved to their own breakout rooms. Units are asked to discuss the following: • Unit Basics (meeting night and time, major events, dues, fundraisers) • Orientation events for adults and next • scheduled gatherings • Volunteer requests of all families • Answer any questions about the unit and Scouting experience • Encouraging families to click on the link and join the unit that night 10
• Update and maintain Be-A-Scout Location Information (“Pin”) • Share our council Recruiting Messages on Your Unit and personal Facebook Pages • Choose a date between August 31 and September 3, 2020 to participate and send to Gary Carroll by August 15, 2020 • Confirm correct unit leadership (Cubmaster and Den Leaders) is listed for your Packs now • Utilize safe Fall Cub Scout program options in development by council staff 11
