Tier Two Supplemental Support What does it look like? ● Supplemental instruction (2-3x/week) ● Small group work with teacher or tutors ● Usually in the classroom during intervention block ● Progress monitoring of individualized goals

Tier Three Intense Intervention What does it look like? ● Intensive supplemental instruction (4-5x/week) ● Individual or small group (1-3 students) with a specialist in math or reading ● Frequent progress monitoring of individualized goals

Referral Process ● Early Intervention Team ● Parent Referral
If the team recommends testing at a Referral PPT... Team members conduct a comprehensive evaluation Team meets again to review the evaluations and determine eligibility IF the student is found eligible, the team then develops an IEP (Individualized Education Program) to meet the student's specific and individualized needs
Possible Services Through an IEP: Academic - Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills ● Speech/Language ● ● Social Skills/Counseling ● Occupational Therapy ● Physical Therapy
IEP vs 504 Accommodations IEP Focus Section 504 Focus Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Section 504 of the Americans with (IDEA) Disabilities Act (ADA) Specialized Academic Instruction under an Accommodations to access learning in the IEP (Individualized Educational Program) classroom or across the school day Includes accommodations Can also include access to additional (similar to a 504 plan) service providers: School Psychologist, Speech and Language, OT, PT
