  1. Mónica : During a school week, we must get up early because school starts at quarter to nine. My mum usually wakes me up, with a hug and a kiss, so I don`t really use my alarm clock. How do you wake up Yasmin?

  2. Breakfast Time

  3. Mario : Getting ready in the mornings is like rush hour at the metro station. I’ve got two sisters so you can Imagine us three fighting for the bathroom. In my family, we shower at night, so it avoids any unnecessary conflicts in the mornings. Breakfasts in Spain are light. It’s usually cookies, muffins or toast and a glass of milk or chocolate milk.

  4. Yasmin : I go to school on foot. I always go with my friend Monica. She lives in my block. In this photo, we are leaving home for school. This is Samiha walking down the stairs. She likes to keep fit so she doesn´t use the lift. Mario also walks to school. And this is Lucas here. His mum drives him to school because he lives in a village near Talavera. His village is called Pepino, which means cucumber in English.

  5. Samiha : School starts at quarter to nine, and it finishes at a quarter to three. We have eleven subjects at school, so we have to study a lot. (Pointing at photos) These are photos of us asking and answering questions in class. Yasmin is doing maths. I think she is not very good at that.

  6. Lucas : We`ve got two breaks: one at half past ten and another at twenty to one. This is a photo of us playing in the playground. Look at our friends! We really enjoy being together. It’s fun to joke around with them. Look at Yasmin! She is trying to play football . S he’s really good at football. She can hit the ball really hard . This is Mario here, eating an apple. He’s so healthy! Most of us usually eat a sandwich but some of our friends also eat some fruit.

  7. Mónica : For us girls there is no rush going home because we like to chat about this and that. As you can see in the photo, we usually stay a little bit longer at the school entrance.

  8. Mario : I have lunch with my sisters. My mum and my dad work so they don’t have lunch at home. My mum always leaves our lunch rea dy for us to heat up in the microwave oven. In this photo, I’m eating beans. I love vegetables. We usually have meat and veggies for lu nch. In this photo, Lucas is having tomato soup for lunch. Although we know that we should eat a variety of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, some fish and some meat, the truth is that we also eat a lot of cold meats, pastries and sweets.

  9. Yasmin : We usually do our homework after lunch. Sometimes I have a siesta after lunch and then I do my homework. When I have exams coming up I usually study for an extra one or two hours

  10. Duties Samiha : When I finish my homework and studies, I usually help my mother clean and tidy our home. I also help by looking after my brother. In this photo, I am sweeping the floor. Lucas is dusting the furniture. Yasmin is clearing the table. Here, Mario is washing the dishes. And in this photo, Monica is folding her clothes. We all help with the housework at home.

  11. Lucas : In the afternoons, when I have free time, I usually go fishing with my friends. We go to a lake called La Portiña, near my village. We go by bike. In this photo, I have caught a fish. As you can see Monica prefers spending her free time at home playing videogames. In that photo Mario is surfing the Internet and there is Yasmin watching TV. Samiha is playing with her mobile phone. She is always chatting with her friends on WhatsApp. As you can see we are never bored.

  12. Mónica : In the evenings I have dinner. I also sometimes have a shower. I like to spend my evenings reading in bed. In this photo we are having dinner. Dinners in Spain are usually lighter than lunches. We usually have cold meats, cheese, salads, soup, omelettes or sandwiches. A lot of people in Spain usually have a glass of milk before going to bed.

  13. Mario : I usually go to bed at about half past ten. In this photo we are asleep in bed dreaming about a new day. Well that’s our daily routine, but you know what? Our weekends are way more exciting.
