WHO OWN’S LIVINGSTONES • YOU DO ! –There are no debts and the building is owned outright • Bought by Christians in Fleet and Placed into a charitable company :- • Its Aims (a) the advancement of the Christian faith; (b) to be a resource for individuals and churches in the area by:- i. the sale of such books, CDs, cassettes, gifts and other products which comply with (a) above; ii. supplying material that will assist with Christian education; iii. serving the community by providing a place of care and support

WHY DO WE NEED TO CHANGE? • Sales down 50% in last 10 years • Charity making small losses each year. • Infrequently used 1 st and 2 nd Floor facilities. • Not refurbished in 20 years. • Called to be a light on the High Street, but not burning very Bright! • Not fully meeting our charitable objectives.

OCT 2015 -VISION GROUP RESULTS • 112 Respondents from all Churches • Most popular ideas (by expressed preference and votes) were:- • Must be outreach focussed • Early Evening Youth Café • Family T ea and Story Time with Children's T oys • T own Centre Ministry Focus with connections to all Churches Together Projects. • Modernised Multi-Function Community Rooms • Business Suite with multiple hot-desks and shared business tools. • 37% of Respondents expressed an interest in helping to bring the expansion of the mission of LivingStones into being.

  7. WORKING THROUGH THE VISION – PLAN A - EXTEND THE BUILDING • Plan A - extend existing building and move central staircase to rear. • 6 months of “wasted” work. • Estimated build costs - £575,000 • Cheaper to knock down building and rebuild! • Market value of expanded building £465,000 versus current value £315,000 • In Oct 2016 LivingStones directors prayerfully abandoned the idea of extending the building and moving staircase.

WORKING THROUGH THE VISION – DEC 2016 TO DATE • Vision group had identified what God was saying to us and we had to explore if there was still a way to make it happen. • LivingStones undoubtedly needs refreshing and to re-engage with the Christian community in Fleet. • Financial projections showed that without some major changes LivingStones would die!

REQUIREMENTS FOR A REFURBISHMENT • New-look shop facelift with extensive rebranding. • Fully refitted building with all new furniture and fitments. • Stock focus on most popular product lines and stock that will attract people into the shop. • Establishment of a Drop-In zone on ground floor. • Creation of multi-use Community Rooms and Kitchen • Hot-Desk Business Suite on top floor, with shared resources. • All facilities freely available for use by the local Christian community – YOU !

  10. TIMETABLE TO THE REDEVELOPMENT • Nov 2016 to June 2017 –Working with professional retail design consultancy. Design and evolution of concepts for LivingStones. • June to July 2017 –T endering with 4 potential contractors. • Nov 14 th 2017 – Contract Signed with Rocare – Selected Shop Fitter. • Dec 24 th – Feb 5 th 2018 – Centre closed for redevelopment • Mid Feb 2018 - Grand Reopening
