  18. Staffing • Our most valuable resource • Committed to the provision of a high quality customer service. • Employment Opportunities: - Leitrim County Library Service facilitated a range of work experience placements in 2015 including: Transition Year Students / Third Level Students

  19. 2015 Developments • Opening hours in Kinlough Library were reviewed in consultation with the local community and educational organisations. The opening hours were amended to strengthen service delivery. There was no reduction to opening hours. • The introduction of WiFi facilities in Ballinamore, Carrick-on-Shannon, Manorhamilton and Mohill Libraries is a very important step in enhancing service delivery to our local community and to visitors - projecting a very positive image of the Library Service and of Leitrim County Council.

Library Service Developments – 2016 • As part of our commitments under the National Library Strategy ... • Abolition of library membership fees – effective January 2016 • Very significant development - ensuring free access to library resources for every citizen. • Implementation of a new Library Management System – nationally

Library Service Developments – 2016 • Capital Development - Proposal for a new purpose-built Library in Carrick-on-Shannon has been submitted to the Department. • Shared services - National discussions are ongoing regarding the implications for Leitrim/Roscommon/Sligo as a shared library service.

Vital Community service • Leitrim County Library Service is a progressive public service, responding to the demands of our users, and embracing technological advances to improve service delivery. • It makes a vital contribution to the communities it serves, and is highly valued by users and visitors alike.
