Self Evaluation Report The report outlined: Background Strengths Areas for Development Clear Action Plan (Task, By Whom, Resources, Time, Impact/progress)
Strengths • Welcoming and inviting environments with high quality equipment, furniture and natural resources in most settings • Warm, positive and warm interactions between staff and children in all settings • Good range of outdoor experiences in almost all settings • Story sessions were well supported by practitioners in all settings • Examples of joint working and supporting transitions in the majority of settings.
Areas for development • More heuristic play opportunities • Better defined arts and craft areas with more consistent mark making opportunities throughout the room • More block play opportunities • Bed time stories developed further • Further training and support with floorbooks / E Learning journals
Action Plan 1. Staff in each setting to engage in moderation sessions on floorbooks / e-learning journals 2. Staff will provide better defined and accessible arts and craft areas with a wider range of resources for children to choose freely 3. Staff will attend training on block play and develop and promote further in their setting.
