Overview B&W have been established in the electrical and instrumentation (E&I) construction industry for 45 years. B&W are one of the largest specialist E&I contractors in South Africa. B&W has worked and gained valuable experience in mining, oil & gas, chemical, utilities, renewable energy, power generation, industrial process plants and infrastructure. The standard of electrical and instrumentation construction varies from industry to industry and B&W have developed highly qualified teams to cater for the needs of our clients. B&W hosts numerous complementary services ranging from field engineering, equipment procurement, material supply, testing and commissioning and maintenance services. B&W acquired Pontins in 2009, one of the largest specialist suppliers of earthing and lightning protection services and have been in business for 46 years. Training In response to the skills shortage in South Africa B&W has invested substantially in the training of field labour to increase its skills pool. B&W has its own fully equipped in-house training centre based in Alberton and is an accredited service provider through Construction SETA. B&W has implemented training programmes in line with accredited SAQA unit standards to advance employee skills and ensure trainees receive an accredited qualification. To determine the appropriate skills development required B&W provides ongoing on-the-job assessments. In addition long-term incentives ensure retention of core staff.
