New Science & Technology Building - Update • August 2016: – IT gains access to building – 30 days to complete all work – Network installation – A/V install • September 2016: • All IT hands on deck to – occupancy and opening of complete installation for Fall building 2016 semester INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

AV Updates Recent Accomplishments: Upcoming advances: • Upgraded monitors on wheels • Instructional videos to become available on IT site • Implemented BOSE powered • New lighting system in A130 speaker system for events • Customized COW for library use • Evergreening 20 Classrooms and loan out • Upgrades to 4 theatres & 5 computer labs INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Lectern Prototypes • Standard lectern in new building • Will eventually replace old lectern • User group and faculty feedback has helped with testing and fine-tuning • Available for viewing in C265 and in room L303 & L304 Benefits: • Newer technology • More versatility • Monitor on arm • Touch panel INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

  15. Telephone Upgrade Project Success Implementation of new phone system completed! Click here for • A key initiative of the ESSSE project information on the new Phone System • All phones on campus have been replaced • Installation from mid-February until the end of March • Over 1,000 new phones deployed • Installation led by co-op students • If you haven’t received a new phone or are having issues with your phone, please contact the IT Service Desk at ithelp@langara.ca INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

KCS (KnowledgeCentered Support) • Leverage Knowledge Centered Support (KCS) methodologies • Unify knowledge management for Service Desk. • Share IT know-how with students and employees via on-line self-serve portals (future) • Pilot phase completed • Right Answers selected as vendor INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
