  3. Ready for Kindergarten? • Write his or her name • Identify most letters • Identify 13 letter sounds • Recognize numbers 1-9 • Count to 20 • Recognize shapes • Exposure to books • Work on activity for 10-15 minutes

  4. Self-Help Skills • Shoes – tie or Velcro • Dressed (winter gear) • Bathroom needs • 2-3 step directions • Responsible for their own belongings • Stay seated until everyone is finished at the dinner table • Help with chores

  6. Parent Steps • Complete online registration www.npaschools.org/register ○ Janelle at 952-758-1703 if you are not sure • Preschool Screening ○ Sharon Rezac at 952-758-1674 • Immunizations are up-to-date and on record • Birth certificate is on file prior to the first day

  7. Transportation ● Sign-up now for the 2018-19 School Year! ○ www.npaschools.org/transportation ● Please complete by June 1 ○ whether you need transportation or not

  8. Campus Portal ● Set-up your campus portal account with the activation code you were sent after registering ● Campus Portal is used for: ○ Busing Information ○ Adding money to lunch accounts ○ Receiving messages from the school throughout the year

  9. Next Step ● Email in April with a brief survey ● Will ask specific information about your child such as: ○ child preferences ○ descriptors of how you feel your child learns best

  10. Kindergarten Open House Monday, May 7, 2018 5:30-7:00 p.m. Bring your child!

  11. Kids Company ● Before- and after-school care ● Before-school care: opens at 6:30 a.m. until school day begins ● After-school care: runs after dismissal (3:40 p.m.) until 6:00 p.m. ● Space is limited ○ Sign up through Community Education ○ www.npaschools.org/community-education

Camp Kindergarten • An opportunity for students to experience what Kindergarten will be like! • Sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for all elementary locations on the dates listed below: Eagle View July 23-27 Raven Stream July 23-27 Falcon Ridge August 6-10 • Watch for the Summer Community Education catalog for registration information!

  13. K-5 Assessment Conferences ● August 27 & 28, 2018 ● Parent will select one 30-minute time slot offered in one of the two days ○ Additional information mailed in early August ● Parents and child attend together ● Attendance is mandatory!
